I always questioned this, as I've noticed that every mechanic shop that I have gone to, does this. And I didn't think that this should be done this way. Could it be because they are rushing to get the next customer in? Or is it because they are just plain lazy?

Im not sold on the grease being used on the pad clips/retainers. It just collects dust and debris. Also, ive never seen brand new cars with those surfaces greased. If you have new clips and you cleaned the bracket you shouldn't need grease that could possibility get on the rotor or pad surface when the brakes heat up.

I got the TIPM for my 3.6 at the junkyard for $80 instead of $1,200 bucks, it came out of a Dodge Avenger into my Chrysler 200 and it's been almost 2 years and that thing is still running fine it was the cause of my car shutting off randomly while driving and that's how I fixed it

My ABS system (2009 silverado) has air and can only get out with the scan tool, to activate the ABS valves and pump(s). I assume. Ordered Foxwell at Amazon and hoping this solves the problem. Had bled master cylinder and all four wheels! Was still mushy especially with engine running!

One time I would agree “ Mopar or no car” . It’s nice to see that type of backing. Also , including the slide pins is a bonus even tho it might rise the cost it’s probably still cheaper then buying them separately or having to wait on them because they were not ordered. How many times we order parts only to find out the pins are needed after the fact. Kinda strange tho that the $30 pins are included but not new $2 rubbers.

2006? E60 530i with a 6 cyl.. They didn't change the "lifetime" trans fluid. That's why it was sent to auction. That cars worth 1k where I am, on a good day.

The OEM is the original producer of a the cars components. Getting a lower subframe from a salvage yard is still an OEM part. Also, buy OEM equivalent sensors. $150 for a Bosch instead of a $60 duralast piece of shit will save you money in the long run.

Good tips. It’s us poor techs that usually have to fix the resulting damaged threads while the exhaust is white hot because some service advisor promised a 10 minute replacement job on the way to picking up the kids from school.

With drum brakes I will leave one side assembled so I have a reference if I need it. My 97 Dakota is a real pain in the ass.

I don’t recommend transmission flush unless you have 150K on Honda vehicles. 🙂

Bent valves is least of your worries, they can be replaced but a valve hitting a piston at high rpm can cause a puncture in said piston (a big hole) or disassemble and pit cylinder walls

honda b16a had waay more then 1000 hp in the 1990s .it's a 4 cylinder
